When I taught television and film, we taught students to stick with one type of tape stock. Pick one and stick with it, or risk damage (or the need to clean) the machine heads. In fact, you would lose the ability to check out gear if you were found to change the tape designated for the equipment. We used Panasonic tape exclusively, and I’ve used it for many years without ever having an issue. This particular tape has (or did have) more silver oxide than other tapes and provides the highest quality of signal resolution. You can switch from a lower grade Panasonic to a higher grade without an issue, but for the shoots that demand a premium grade tape, I always used the DV Master. This is truly the good stuff, and it’s been used for times when you need the highest and best performance possible.

This tape has been a consistent performer for all the projects I’ve thrown it’s way. No local stores carry it. It’s worth the effort to get it to capture your projects.

I really like these tapes. I have a professional Panasonic camera and wouldn’t think of using another brand or grade. I get perfect video every time with no dropouts. Even after many re-uses. I’d highly recommend these for professional and hobbyist alike.
